Bob Huckins, Principal
I have been in the custom home business since 1977. After graduating from Norwich University in1973, I decided take a winter off to ski in Colorado before pursuing my “real” career. While living in Steamboat Springs, I took a trip to ski Crested Butte and ended up meeting my future wife and deciding to move to the Gunnison valley.
Having worked construction during summer vacations, I started working as a carpenter. It soon became apparent that there was an opportunity to start a construction business in Crested Butte, so I began Huckins Construction Inc. in 1976 with my brother. We built custom homes together for over 20 years until our personal lives took us in different directions. I started Bob Huckins Construction in 1999.
Bob Huckins Construction, Inc. and Cedar Ridge Construction Company, Inc. have been working together since 1999. What started out as a general contractor/subcontractor relationship has developed into a working partnership. This partnership greatly benefits our clients as it allows me to work more closely with the clients, their architect and subcontractors. On a typical day I meet with Cedar Ridge owners Geordie VanMarter and Scott Hahn at the jobsite to discuss where we are on a project and what preparations are needed to keep the project progressing efficiently. Geordie and Scott both have great jobsite awareness and are extremely quality oriented. |
